# Bishop Museum Presents Its Annual E Ulu A Paʻa Auction

Online fundraiser supports the mission, work, and staff of Bishop Museum and features exclusive Museum experiences.

Honolulu, Hawaiʻi — Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum is pleased to once again present E Ulu A Paʻa, a 10-day online auction supporting the mission, work, and staff of Bishop Museum, the designated Hawaiʻi State Museum of Natural and Cultural History. The event will feature exclusive Museum experiences from a private tour of Hawaiian Hall and Pacific Hall paired with a tasting menu with Chef Mark Noguchi, to a pizza party and lava pour demonstration in the Museum's volcano, or a customized planetarium experience. E Ulu A Paʻa will be held from Aug. 18-28, 2022, online at BishopMuseum.cbo.io.

Participants will be able to bid online or via text on curated experiences and one-of-a-kind items. Auction contributions will help raise critical funds so Bishop Museum can continue to serve its local and global community.

Private Tasting Menu With Chef Mark Noguchi

Spend an evening of culture, art, and culinary bliss at Bishop Museum! Begin your evening with a private tour of Hawaiian and Pacific Halls led by a Bishop Museum expert, then dine in the Gulab & Indru Watumull Atrium with a tasting menu prepared by Chef Mark Noguchi.

The Art of the Hawaiian Warrior: Pahi Kaua (War Knife) Workshop with G. ʻUmi Kai

Learn to make a pahi kaua the ʻUmi Kai way! Learn about traditional design and function complete with ʻaha (coconut sennit) cordage on the handle. This workshop is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours long, and you'll leave with a completed pahi kaua.

Private Lava Pour Pizza Party

Enjoy a private evening at the Museum with your own Lava Pour Pizza Party! You and up to 19 guests will meet at the Hot Spot to learn about the formation of the Hawaiian Islands and Hawaiʻi's volcanoes in the Museum's signature volcano show, and see real lava poured out of our 2,000-degree furnace! Each guest will receive a keepsake lava glass shard. Gallery time in the Science Adventure Center and a pizza dinner are included.

Customize Your Own Planetarium Experience!

Spend an Evening in the J. Watumull Planetarium with family and friends! Collaborate with our Planetarium staff to customize an interactive evening exploring the night sky. Choose from one of the following 30-minute options: a.) Tour of the solar system (all ages), b.) Wonders of the Milky Way Galaxy (all ages), c.) Stories Under the Stars (great for families with young children!) Planetarium educators will show you what to look for in the current night sky and what's coming up, as well as answer questions during Q&A. Guests will also experience stargazing, weather permitting. Duration: 2 hours.

J. Watumull Planetarium tickets can be purchased at the Box Office after admission to the Museum; shows are free for Bishop Museum Members, but must be obtained at the Box Office in person on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bishop Museum Café by Highway Inn offers a limited menu of bowls, sandwiches, and snacks from 10 a.m.–3:30 p.m. daily. Bishop Museum Members receive a 10% discount with their membership card.
